"Play Us A Hymn...You're the Piano Man!"

Hey!

These past two weeks have been good and full of work. On April 21 we baptized a 10 year old kid named Jorge. We were actually knocking doors when we knocked this one door and a young man answered us in the door. I asked him if he had talked with missionaries before and he said that he had and that he, his sister, and mom, were all members, only that they couldn´t attend because they had to always work Sunday mornings. But! He told us his younger brother Jorge wanted to be baptized. So, we went over to their house the next day and talked with Jorge and he wanted to be baptized, so in the following week we taught him and then had his baptism this past 21st of April. The good thing is that since he comes, his dad also comes. We have talked with him a little and he said he would like to be baptized, only that he feels he needs to prepare more before he gets baptized, so we are currently working with him. Cool little miracles. Oh how I love them.

One of the neatest and most spiritual experiences of these past two weeks happened last week with a guy named Juan. We were talking outside with one of our investigators when Juan came out to talk with him and such. He introduced himself to us and started asking questions about what we do and everything. We answered and then he invited us into his house to drink some water since it was really hot outside. We went in and he started to ask more questions about Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon and was really super interested in what we were telling him. So, we set up an appointment for a couple days after. When we went over, we talked about the Restoration of the Gospel. When I recounted the experience of Joseph Smith to him, the Spirit was super strong in the room. I told him how the Spirit testifies of what is true and how it invites us to act. In that, I explained feelings that come from the Holy Spirit and as I described my feelings that come from the Spirit he was way super excited and explained that his were very similar and that he felt something truly marvelous. We invited him to be baptized and he happily said yes. We explained about The Book of Mormon and he told us he knew it was all true. He is way super excited for his baptism and is working as hard as he can to obey the Word of Wisdom so that he can be baptized. Way exciting for both him and us!

Well, that´s all for this week! Hope you all are doing just swell! Keep on keeping on! Love you all!

P.S. Oh yeah! I also played the piano in our sacrament meeting to accompany the hymns! Nervous, but I played perfectly.

My Redeemer, Savior and King, Jesus Christ

Hey guys!

Yet another great week here in Mexico. We worked real hard this week and it paid off with us setting some more baptismal dates with people and finding even more and preparing them to take that first step in following Jesus Christ. Highlight of the week was the baptism of Lalo which took place on Thursday in the evening. It was a neat experience and we had a good time. After his baptism, Elder Mendoza and I went to buy pizza and then ate it with them since it was also Lalo´s birthday. So, all in all good stuff. Other than that, we´ve been working hard and we still have lots of success to see.

Amo a mi Redentor, Salvador, y Rey, Jesucristo.

Translation:
Well, that´s pretty much all that happened this week. I know without a doubt that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. He is the one who founded and guides this church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that through him, Jesus Christ restored the beautiful truths of His gospel to the Earth again. I know that in this day we are guided by a prophet of God named Thomas S. Monson. I know that The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ really is sacred scripture. It speaks of our Savior and His pure principles which bring us to Him. I love my Heavenly Father and I thank Him for His love for me and for sacrificing His own son, Jesus Christ, so that I can repent of my sins and errors and one day return to live with Him. I love my Redeemer, Savior, and King, Jesus Christ. He is the one who saves me. I love the correct principles that we learn in this church. As we strive to obey everything that God asks of us, we will be blessed in all things, both temporally and spiritually and one day we will receive eternal life, which is the greatest of all the gifts of God. I testify that all of this is true and I do it in the sacred name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

I hope you all have a rockin´ week and that you always strive to do your best. I love you all!

Fruits From Our Labors

Hey there!

What a great and busy week filled with lots of blessings from the Lord!  Elder Mendoza and I worked real hard this week and we saw the many blessings that come from hard work. We have 4 baptisms planned for this upcoming week and have another 3 scheduled for later in the month.  The work is moving on and we are doing great.  So, look forward to next week's report on all the baptisms!  It's truly a blessing to work among people who are open and receptive to the spirit and the gospel.  The cool thing is that Elder Mendoza and I have looked at the numbers and currently we are working with/know more than 50 people who are interested, so we should be seeing a fair amount of success this month. The Lord truly does bless us. Also, this week when we went to look for one of our investigators, two young men saw us and called us over and started to ask questions to know more. They said they are interested and I could also feel that from them. So, we will be passing by this week with them and with some of the other people we have found and have some great spiritual experiences with them all.

We are continuing to do well and hope to see many fruits from our labors. I wish and pray for the best for you all!

Conferencia General en Español - General Conference in Spanish

Hey folks!

Good week of work! But not too much time to write! In short, we worked hard this week and are getting some baptisms lined up for these next few weeks, so things should be looking good! I hope you all got a chance to watch General Conference! Wasn´t it just great! Cool stuff listening to it for my first time all in Spanish. I hope you all can ponder the messages that were given during conference and that you can all re-read or listen to the talks again to gain more spiritual insight and revelation. Visit lds.org! That´s where you can get hooked up with all that good stuff. Well, that´s all I have time for this week, but know that I love you all! Have a great week!
